Within the 7-10 Music Scope of learning students will create and explore the following Strands:
Students will develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the musical concepts through performing as a means of self-expression, interpreting musical symbols and developing solo and/or ensemble techniques.
Students will develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the musical concepts through composing as a means of self-expression, musical creation and problem-solving.
Students will develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the musical concepts through listening as a means of extending aural awareness and communicating ideas about music in social, cultural and historical contexts.
Year 11 and 12
This course provide students with the opportunity to study the concepts of music through the learning experiences of performance, composition, musicology and aural within the context of a range of styles, periods and genres. Students nominate three electives made up of any combination of performance, composition and/or musicology which reflect the three topics studied in the HSC course.
The aim of Music 1 Stage 6 is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge, skills and experiences and to emerge as musically sensitive and capable individuals with the capacity and desire for music to play a significant and continually developing role in their lives.
